Abruzzo our region!

Abruzzo is one of the lesser known regions of Italy but its offering are as quintessentially Italian as pasta and Tuscany. Historic sites include the medieval hilltop town of Torricella Peligna, Gessopalena, Guardiagrele, the Castle of Roccascalegna and the archaeological Roman site of Juvanum in Montenerodomo.

For foodies, San Martino sulla Marrucina is home to Cantina Masciarelli, one of the finest wineries in Italy where wine and olive tastings are the local sport and nearby pasta-making factory Del Verde in Fara San Martino.
In the little town of Quadri, truffle hunting is a given in October and November while in summer the seaside town of Vasto and the “La costa dei Trabocchi” provide perfect venues to sample seafood.
